Playlist
I rarely talk about music on this blog, which is unfair. I listen to music all the time and I always come across great artists that I want to share to people. Unfortunately, my friends don't have the same music taste as I do. I figured that people on this blog (let's just pretend someone aside from myself even remembers that this blog exists) would appreciate my music taste! I'm going to be making playlists for you guys whenever I feel like it. I'm going to make this a regular part of the blog, so I hope you guys like the songs!
This playlist is just a random assortment of really chill songs. Agh, I suck at describing songs. I can't even place songs in their proper genre. Anyway, these are all very mellow, but they're all lovely and kind of haunting. Listen for yourself!
1. Holocene Bon Iver
2. Baby Warpaint
3. Blood Bank Bon Iver
4. Boy with a Coin Iron & Wine
5. Breathe Me Sia
6. Kreuzberg Bloc Party
7. Lover I Don't Have to Love Bright Eyes
8. Possibility Lykke Li
9. Postcards from Italy Florence + the Machine & Beirut
10. Skinny Love (Bon Iver Cover) Birdy
11. Spanish Sahara Foals
12. Transatlanticism Death Cab for Cutie
Download.

Every single year I look forward to the Coachella music festival held in California. When I mean I look forward to it, I mean I check the line-up the moment it is announced, check out those bands included that I don't know of, watch the sucky videos of the performances posted on YouTube, check out all the photos of the best dressed people there.
This year, they had a wonderful lineup (although some of my favorite bands that I expected to be there weren't, it's all good). When I found out there would be a live streaming of the whole festival on YouTube, I was psyched- no I was ecstatic! As much as I wanted to clear my schedule and stay home to watch the show, I had to do a bunch of errands and go to school. I still got to see a bunch of the acts that were posted on YouTube. The only act that I really wanted to watch, but am still unable to is The Strokes. The quality of the vids uploaded are so horrible I can't hear the sounds properly. If anyone finds a decent version, please let me know!
One of my favorite parts of Coachella- or any event at all- is seeing what everyone decided to wear. I was excited to see which celebrities attended. There are those people whose styles are always Coachella-ready. People like Isabel Lucas, Whitney Port and, Coachella veteran, Kate Bosworth are one of said people. Then there are those people who go all out during the festival, like this girl in a bikini. Hey, if you've got it, flaunt it!

Coachella shouldn't just be about the huge flock of celebrities that attend it (Really, do these people even listen to these bands?) or the things the people choose to wear (although they can be quite the spectacle). It's about the music! I was really thrilled to see Mumford and Sons, Crystal Castles, Robyn, Warpaint, The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Two Door Cinema Club, Foals, Kanye West and Ellie Goulding.
My favorite act was definitely Kanye. Even if he isn't my favorite artist out of all the ones there, he gave the best performance. The set was amazing, the dancers were wild and he was a beast when he performed! Never expect anything less from Kanyesus.

Warpaint was adorable! I love these girls, I have a thing for all girl bands. If you haven't heard of these ladies, you should definitely check them out. They are brilliant.

Foals & Mumford and Sons were so good that I decided to download their videos to my phone. Marcus is amazing and I kind of fell in love watching him sing on stage. And then there's Jack Bevan, the drummer of Foals. Ah, ginger musicians are my weakness (see Alex Trimble). Every Mumford and Sons song was great, but my favorite was Little Lion Man. I love it when a band starts a song and they start the first riff (is that what it's called?) and the crowd recognizes the songs and they all scream in unison. That's probably be the most exhilarating part of a song IMO.

There are fabulous ladies that I was glad to have caught on the live stream. Robyn and Ellie Goulding were fantastic! Ellie has the most amazing voice! She's a goddess. She looks amazing in what looks like what I wear to go to sleep. How do you do it, Ellie?

If I could just watch one show out of all those in the lineup, I'd probably pick Crystal Castles. Alice Glass is amazing. Look at this bitch stage diving with a broken foot. I wasn't able to catch the live stream so I had to watch the shitty YouTube uploads and there were very few of them. From the few videos that I had seen, I can tell it was one hell of a show! There was this part where the whole place looked like a rave! Fucking Crystal Castles, yo!

UGH COACHELLA, SOMEDAY!!!!!!!!!
Let me leave you with this video that will leave you with eternal LOLs.

Just 19, Dream Obscene
Enough of all this fashion bznz. Let`s listen to music!
After re-watching Cruel Intentions for the first time since I was like 10 (What were my parents doing at the time that I was able to watch such a fucked up movie?), I fell in love with the opening credits song. Thanks to Google, it took me five seconds to find out what it was and who sang it. Every You, Ever My by Placebo has been one of my Most Played songs ever since. Naturally, I would check out other songs from the band.
I`ve known about Placebo since probably the seventh grade, but I never really got around to listen to them, because back then I was more into the "in" music like Black Eyed Peas and Beyonce.
And then during my Freshman year, I went into this sappy heartbroken shit phase where I listened to Secondhand Serenade and all those other bands I`ve forgotten. Also I was obsessed with My Chemical Romance. Hah! In my defense, that was right before they released The Black Parade. I stopped listening after that. That year was not a total musical embarrassment. I got into Muse that year, and I still love them until now.
Then came Sophomore Year where I delved into screamo scene phase. Oh my god, I don`t even. I`m thankful I didn`t dress like an over-the-top scene kid. At the time, I was seriously considering dying a section of my hair hot pink or electric blue. That would have brought on a ton of lols for the future. Coupled with my love for screamo was Taylor Swift songs. Back then, it felt like she wrote all her songs based on my life experiences. I still listen to some of the music I listened to back then, but I don`t have that style anymore. Thank God.
Third year was just retarded. I don`t even want to remember that shit. Brokencyde and 3OH!3 and Millionares. Sweet baby Jeebus! Just typing it all on here makes me cringe like a motherfucker. Well, it wasn`t all complete utter shit. I listened to MGMT back then and I still love them until now.
The my Senior Year was probably when I stopped with the ridikkulus "phase" music and my taste matured. I listen to the same music I did last year and I guess that`s a good sign.
So back to Placebo (Wow, my teacher was right. I do go off topic a lot). I spent one whole night last week just youtube-ing their songs and listening to them made me so emotional (no crying and shit, but just felt really emotional). His voice is just so piercing. I was surprised I didn`t listen to them earlier in my emo-kid phase. HAHAHA! My current favorites are Every You, Every Me , Meds, and Special Needs.
If you haven`t listened to them yet, I highly suggest it!
